New England's rich history means it's filled with terrifying ghost stories. From haunted mansions and vampire-occupied cemeteries, the tales are chilling. Tower Hill Road in Rhode Island is one especially eerie road found in one of Little Rhody's small towns, Cumberland, that has led to several reported ghost sightings.
Cumberland is a small town like many others. Located on the border of Massachusetts, the town possesses much history.
The town was first settled in 1635 and was formerly known for iron works. It now offers several haunted locations, with the public library and old monastery being the most infamous.
Another haunted destination found in Cumberland is Tower Hill Road. This mostly forested road sits between Diamond Hill Road and Wrentham Road.
Reported sightings of paranormal activity on this road not only include ghosts of children, zombies, and unexplained lights, but also the figure of a bigfoot-like creature nicknamed the "man monkey" by locals.
Could the several reported sightings of so many different creatures be accurate? Could this seemingly quaint country road be a hot spot for all things strange and paranormal? Whether the legends are true, or not, this road sure is creepy.
