Even if you’re not on the hunt for anything in particular, you’re sure to find a few gems at Jules Antiques & General Store in Richmond. More than 70 dealers fill the 8,000-square-foot antique shop that’s tucked in a charming farm building. Carve out enough time for your visit, especially if you want to see everything, and wear comfy shoes because you’ll do a lot of walking.

Don’t worry if your weekends are packed with activities and errands. The antique shop is open seven days a week, and you might find it’s quieter during the week. Jules Antiques & General Store’s motto is “Where Old is New Again,” and you’ll understand why as you explore the dealer booths that feature everything from Christmas decorations and artwork to old-school toys (remember Hot Wheels?) and vintage furniture. You might even find some pretty cool vintage clothes.

Include a stop at the general store during your visit, especially if you have a sweet tooth. Try one of the old-fashioned sodas or stock up on your favorite old-school penny candies. Grab some coffee syrup, too, so you can add a touch of deliciousness – coffee milk – to your day. The general store is brimming with fun finds, including candles, soaps, apple butter, and jellies. You might even be lucky enough to score flavored, like salt and vinegar, popcorn.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. An Instagram ad caught my eye during a late-night scroll session and I was intrigued by the colorful compartments and versatility of the bag, which can be carried as a duffle or as a backpack (I prefer the backpack for even weight distribution and airport navigation.) Why I Love It: Fact: Airplanes are notoriously dry, dry, dry. No matter how much water I drink both before and during the flight, I always find myself in a hydration deficit for days. If you're an avid thrifter or antique collector, you may know Antiques Alley by its former name Stillwater Antique Center. However you know it and whatever you call it, the Greenville antique shop is a must-visit for any collector.
Tucked in a historic mill, the handicap-accessible shop is jam-packed with thousands of gems and inventory that changes frequently. Carve out at least a few hours for your visit.
Only service animals are permitted at Antiques Alley. Pets are prohibited.
As you wander through the antique shop, you'll likely notice that items are displayed in one of three ways - as part of a booth, in a display case, or on the wall. All items have price tags, making it easier for you to decide what to buy.
Mark your calendar, too, for the two annual sales at Antiques Alley. The Columbus Day Weekend Sale and the Holiday Sale, the latter of which is held in December, feature a minimum discount of 10 percent off all items and oftentimes considerably more.
