Sometimes all we need to relax and have a bit of fun is to head to a Rhode Island state park. No matter what park we choose, we'll find breathtaking natural beauty and enough to keep us busy all day. This pretty park in Rhode Island isn't all that big, but it packs a whole lot in its quaint 89 acres.
An idyllic backdrop for a day out, Brenton Point State Park in Newport offers a full menu of fun all year around.
Although it's quite small at just 89 acres, it doesn't feel small, especially with all there is to do. The first thing you'll likely notice when you arrive is...
Those gorgeous views of the ocean. A stroll along the shore is the perfect way to get to know this quaint Rhode Island park.
Perhaps the only thing better than a walk along the water is spending time on the water. The park is popular with sailboating.
You'll also find plenty of secluded spots to do a little fishing or to just sit on a rock and admire the views.
You won't have trouble, either, getting your kite to set sail high above the ground.
Visit the ruins of a former stone tower and carriage house. The park in Rhode Island is also home to the Portuguese Discovery Monument.
Make a day of it by bringing a picnic; you'll come across several picnic tables throughout the park. You'll also find plenty of space on the lush grass to sit back and relax.
