Get ready to channel your creative side. Maybe you're shrugging your shoulders, thinking you’re just not the creative type? Well, you certainly may uncover a hidden passion when you visit Little House Big Art in Pittsburgh, a cozy artist’s studio, where you can create your own project, sign up for a class, or host a birthday party. Whichever you choose, you’re in for a fun and a creative experience.
Tucked in a little house in Pittsburgh, Little House Big Art welcomes artists and aspiring artists of all ages to create everything from painting your own pottery to making jewelry. If you want to bring a bit out of the outdoors inside, you can also…
Build your own terrarium. You have two choices for your terrarium building, including visiting during Open Studio. At that time, you can build your own, requesting guidance from an instructor if and when needed.
If you prefer one-on-one instruction, however, sign up for one of the one-hour Build A Terrarium classes. Good news, too, especially if you struggle with a busy schedule.
Schedule your class with the instructor your choice, from those listed, and choose the day and time that works best for you from the open days/times. You can schedule your class online, pay your class fee, and arrive on the day you’ve chosen.
The Build A Terrarium class costs $35 and includes all of the supplies you’ll need to create a medium terrarium. If you’d prefer to build a larger one, you can upgrade, too.
Before you head over to the art studio, keep a few things in mind. The studio sits in a neighborhood, so make sure you park in front of it and avoid blocking the neighbors’ parking spots.
You’ll also have to climb stairs to get to the studio.
Wear comfy clothes that you’re not afraid to get dirty, and perhaps most importantly, leave your worries at the door. Little House Big Art is all about providing a friendly, relaxing, supportive environment for visitors of all ages.
Yep, little ones are also invited to the art studio, where they, too, can create their own artistic masterpieces.
Create your own terrarium at Open Studio, held Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Or, sign up for a class by clicking here.
