How awesome would it be to be a kid again, even for just a few hours, especially in the 21st century? Well, unfortunately, we can't turn back the clock. But, that doesn't mean we can't channel our inner child from time-to-time. If you're looking for a fun, family-friendly attraction that will make you feel like a kid again, plan a day at this train-themed attraction in Pennsylvania.
All aboard! Pile the whole family into the car and set the GPS for the National Toy Train Museum, a spectacular, family-friendly attraction in Ronks.
And, channel your inner child because you're in for a ton of fun exploring the largest toy train collection in the world.
Put on your conductor's cap, too, and start some of the trains. Yep. Push a button and watch the train chug along the tracks.
But, that's just the beginning of your train-themed adventure. Snap photos of the museum's oldest train. The Steven's Alcohol Burning Locomotive is from around 1840.
Then, check out the many exhibits dotted throughout the museum, including a miniature Lionel Industrial Power Station, circa 1928 to 1940.
The National Toy Train's massive collection features toy and miniature trains (replicas of actual trains) from the 1800s to today.
Kids or teens can sign up for the Kids Club or the Teens Club, a fun way to learn more about toy trains and to even make their own trains.
Then, cap off your visit with a stop in the Gift Shop, where you'll find plenty of fun souvenirs - from t-shirts and hats to books and toys.
Plan your visit to the National Toy Museum, which is generally open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. though days vary depending on the month. (Check before you go to make sure the museum is open.)
The National Toy Train Museum is located at 300 Paradise Ln., Ronks, PA 17572.
