Winter's bitter cold will certainly be making itself comfortable in PA soon, if it hasn't already in your corner of the state. Before long, we'll wake up to sunlight glistening on freshly fallen snow. Take a snow day this winter, and have some old-fashioned fun. Go sled riding. Build a snowman. Or, head to the best snow tubing hill in Pennsylvania for non-stop thrills.
Bundle up for a day or an evening of adventure at Avalanche Xpress in York. The epic snow tubing hill boasts 10 snow tubing lanes.
Zip down the 80-foot hill on your snow tube, provided with your lift ticket, then...
Drag your tube back up the hill, or sit back as the tubing lift takes you, as you relax on your snow tube, back to the top of the hill.
The hill at Avalanche Xpress welcomes guests of all ages with no lower age limit. However, all young children must be able to get into and out of the snow tube on their own.
Dress appropriately for your winter adventure. Avalanche Xpress recommends wearing water resistant clothing that will keep you warm in the cold temperatures.
Warm up and recharge with a snack or a meal from one of the concession stands outside or at Knickers Pub. Outside food is not permitted.
You can also get toasty warm by the fire pits, also an ideal spot for making s'mores and roasting marshmallows.
Take a break from the hills with a leisurely ice skating session. Skate rentals are available.
