We love to share all the great hiking trails across the state with you because we feel like the best way to truly experience the beauty of Oregon is to get out there and explore it in person! There's another great way to see Oregon up close, though, and that's by kayak. Oregon's waterways will take you right through some of the prettiest scenery the state has to offer, and even reaches places where hiking trails don't.
Want to explore by kayak but don't have much experience? Take a guided kayak tour with Sky Lakes Wilderness Adventures:
When you're ready for an outdoor adventure, head to Sky Lakes Wilderness Adventures in Chiloquin.
Address: 112 Chocktoot Street, Chiloquin, OR 97624
This place has all the rental gear you need for your adventure, including bikes, kayaks, life vests, fishing poles, coolers, binoculars, and more.
The adventure company also offers guided kayak tours, and if you want to get out there, but prefer to go along with an experienced guide, this is your place. The company offers six different tours.
Tours include Malone Springs, Harriman Springs, Wood River, Spring Creek, Spraque River, and Williamson River (shown below).
Each tour lasts around three hours, and your guides haul all the kayaks and gear for you!
The tours vary, but most are suitable for beginning kayakers. A few of the trips require a little experience to navigate some small rapids.
The scenery on each tour is different, but they all offer beautiful surroundings. The guides at Sky Lake Wilderness Adventures are wonderful, and will point out all the local flora and fauna as you paddle through some of Oregon's most scenic wilderness.
Sound like fun? Tours are just $60 and $75 per person, and are available through October.
Does this look like something you'd like to try? If so, tag the friends and family you want to take with you! Visit Sky Lakes Wilderness Adventures' website to see more details about each tour and book yours. Follow the tour company's Facebook page to see more photos of the beautiful waterways they tour.
