Book lovers, rejoice: Wordstock is almost here! The biggest literary event in the Northwest and one of the largest in the nation is right around the corner, and you are going to want to put it on your calendar. Featuring some of the top authors in the country, this annual event is sure to introduce you to new authors and allow you to be up close and personal in the literary world.
The one-day event takes place at the Portland Art Museum and a variety of surrounding venues.
Taking place on November 11, 2017 from 9 am to 6 pm, the event this year boasts its most star-studded author lineup yet.
Featuring over 100 authors in 43 on-stage events, this is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the literary arts.
The festival is an all ages event that features children's, YA, fiction, and nonfiction authors and more.
An extensive book fair with over 70 vendors, you will find plenty to see and do here in between hearing your favorite authors read.
Local food trucks will be serving up food all day as well, so you will be happy to stay and enjoy the fun.
On-stage events are part of the immense draw of the festival, and you will be treated to both nationally known authors, as well as many Pacific Northwest favorites.
Using a variety of venues along with the halls of the art museum, the festival is able to appeal to many genres and keep things interesting all day long.
Some of the participating venues include the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, The Old Church, First Congregational United Church of Christ, Oregon Historical Society, and Winningstad Theatre.
While your ticket will get you into the festival, individual events are on a first-come, first-serve basis, so you are going to want to plan you day before you arrive.

Ta-Nehisi Coates will be discussing his new book "We Were Eight Years in Power: An American Tragedy" at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.
The discussion, with Jenna Wortham of the New York Times, will take place from 12 pm - 1 pm.
Another large draw of the festival will be Daniel Handler, AKA Lemony Snicket.
The author of children's books "A Series of Unfortunate Events" and many other adult books will present on storytelling and how it illuminates life. The presentation will take place at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall at 10 am.
Tom Perrotta, most well-known for penning "Election" and "The Leftovers," will be discussing his new novel, "Mrs. Fletcher," with State of Wonder's April Baer.
This discussion will take place at the First Congregational United Church of Christ at 10 am.
Best-selling authors Claire Messud and Maile Meloy will also be discussing their works at the festival.
The conversation will take place at First Congregational United Church of Christ at 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm.
Other authors set to read and discuss their works at the event include Lidia Yukanvitch, Jeffrey Eugenides, Adam Gopnik, Jenny Han, Carson Ellis, Danez Smith, Kaveh Akbar, and Gabrielle Bell, among many, many more.
Tickets to the event are $15 in advance, and $18 at the door, and includes a $5 voucher that can be used at the book fair. High school students (with ID) and children are free.
