Have you been to Topaz Farm? This farm, formerly known as Kruger's, is on Sauvie Island near Portland. It's special for many reasons. First of all, it offers fresh produce for sale that was either grown on the farm or on other nearby farms using sustainable methods. That's awesome. Also, it offers farm-to-plate meals throughout the spring and summer seasons — that's fantastic, too. But on top of both of those already wonderful things, Topaz Farm also puts on a lot of fun events and another one is coming up on May 25, 2024. It will be the farm's second annual Holi Spring Festival and you should go. Read on to learn more about this colorful spring festival in Portland, Oregon.

In the fall, you can get great pumpkins at Topaz Farm.
But this spring, there's a wonderful event coming up! On May 25th, Topaz Farm will hold its second annual Holi Spring Harvest Festival. All are welcome!
There will be dancing.
There will be lots and lots of dancing.
You will also be encouraged to dance. Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to.

There will also be food. Lots and lots of very good food. Maruti Indian Restaurant, shown here, was one vendor at the festival last year, but there were many others as well.
All of that is great, but one of the best parts of the festival is the fun Holi tradition of throwing colors.
All of the powder used at this event is organic and sourced directly from India. It's made from flowers, seeds, and vegetables. Your entry ticket includes a packet of colors, so don't worry about bringing your own!
Throwing colored powder on others is a fun Holi tradition.
There are a few different stories in Indian culture that explain why colors are thrown on this special holiday. The most well-known involves a woman who survived being burned on a pyre; the colors represent the flames. Regardless of the legend behind it, Holi is a celebration of love and of color. This is one of the most colorful festivals of the entire year!
This event will be fun for all who attend. It's bright, colorful, and full of laughter and life.
Topaz Farm will be an excellent setting for this exciting and happy festival. It sold out last year — so buy your tickets in advance! You certainly don't want to miss out on all of this.
