Want to buy (or just browse) fantastic, locally-made art and gifts? Look no further than Portland's Sevigny Studio PDX, a true Oregon hidden gem. Run by owner-artist Katie Sevigny, the boutique is part art gallery, part jewelry store, part gift shop, part housewares store, part art studio, part event space, and so much more!
In other words, there is a lot going on in this small but mighty gallery that's quickly become a centerpiece of the SE Division arts community since opening during the pandemic. The wildly talented Sevigny often paints in the shop, so you can see her creativity in action. She's also a super friendly shopkeeper, a devoted champion of other artists' work, and dedicated to building community in Portland.
"Our mission is to bring a wonderfully curated collection of art and goods to our neighborhood," says Sevigny, who also owns another gallery in Anchorage, Alaska, where she lived before relocating several years ago. Both her shops sell a wide range of goods, from glassware and earrings to handbags and sculptures.
Sevigny Studio PDX showcases the owner's fabulous artwork as well as the work of local and regional artists.
The gallery offers a unique variety of gift items and hosts a range of community events including live music, readings, and art tutorials like landscape painting, pumpkin decorating, and elevated coloring book sessions.
If you're looking for a gift, this store is the perfect place to find a unique item that's sure to please!
You'll find something at every price point—and to suit just about anyone's lifestyle and taste.
There's so much to look at in this store that it's also fun just to browse.
You can buy original paintings or printed copies of Sevigny's dynamic work.
Or pick up mugs, prints, cards, candles, or many other cool items.
While I covet the paintings in the shop, my favorite items are from the gorgeous jewelry collection.
In fact, I have quite a few pairs of the hand-beaded earrings—and this is where I go to shop for my friends!
For more information or to shop online, check out the Sevigny Studio PDX website. If your visit to the gallery is part of a road trip, don't forget to stock up on car-friendly snacks—or try some of the great nearby eateries, such as PDX Sliders, Atlas Pizza, or Loretta Jean's pie bakery.
Leave a comment to let us know which painting or gift item you like best at the gallery. Personally, I want them all!
