Autumn in Oregon is a wonderful time of year. Leaves change color as the weather begins to cool, and the crisp air takes on a feeling of comfort and home. Fall is a time for harvests, Halloween, and gathering together. Oregon is home to many wonderful festivals that take place each Autumn, from grape stomping and Oktoberfest to food fairs and film festivals. Here are 11 awesome festivals happening this Fall that you won't want to miss.
11. Feast Portland
This incredible food festival takes place in Portland between September 15-18 and features all kinds of amazing foods and drinks from the Pacific Northwest.
10. Fall Kite Festival
Every year, Lincoln City hosts two amazing Kite Festivals: the Summer Kite Festival and the Fall Kite Festival. On October 1st and 2nd, head to the beach to see tons of amazing kites soar across the sky.
9. Mount Angel Oktoberfest
This incredible Bavarian-style Oktoberfest takes place in the charming town of Mount Angel from September 15-18. Expect to find all kinds of attractions including arts & crafts, a car show, races, dancing, traditional Bavarian food, beer, and more.
8. Corvallis Fall Festival
Every year, Corvallis hosts a fantastic art festival that brings hundreds of people together to celebrate the arts and have a good time.
7. Oregon Independent Film Festival
Located in both Portland and Eugene, this incredible film fest features many amazing independent films each year (including documentaries and student films).
6. Hood River Hops Fest
On September 24th, the beautiful town of Hood River will host the fantastic Hood River Hops Fest. The festival celebrates the harvest of hops, and features beer from over 50 great breweries as well as live music and other fun activities.
5. St Josef’s Grape Stomping Festival
One awesome way to celebrate the Fall harvest each year is to check out the Grape Stomping Festival at the lovely St Josef's Winery in Canby. The festivities will be taking place on September 24th and 25th this year, and there will be plenty of music, food, wine, and of course, grape stomping.
4. Southern Oregon Music Festival
Formerly known as the Medford Jazz Festival, this awesome music festival takes place each year at multiple venues in downtown Medford. This year, the town will be filled with music from September 30th to October 2nd.
3. Wooden Shoe Pumpkin Festival
Hosted by at the spectacular Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn, the Pumpkin Festival is a fun, family friendly festival with a pumpkin patch, corn maze, a tractor ride, archery, duck races, and much more. Pumpkin Fest lasts a whole month, from September 30th to October 30th.
2. Music in the Meadow
On September 18th and 19th, the historic town of Sumpter will be hosting a great outdoor music festival that's fun for the whole family.
1. The Northwest Filmmakers’ Festival
This amazing film festival takes place each year at the Northwest Film Center in Portland. The festival features screenings, talks, and more to showcase and celebrate the incredible work of filmmakers in the Northwest.
