Want to have an arty adventure? Head to Astoria to explore the vibrant local art scene on the Oregon coast. There's an inspiring art scene in Astoria Oregon as it's home to 13 local art galleries. I proposed a round-up highlighting each gallery, or I could pick one to feature. Here's what you'll find in this artsy town:
On a recent visit to Astoria, I stopped into the fabulous Made in Astoria art gallery.
I was blown away by the unique pieces on display from intricate charcoal drawings of local vistas on wood panels to ceramic mugs and lighted sculptures.
Made in Astoria also features friendly and knowledgeable staff.
There are over a dozen art galleries to check out as you walk down the town's main strips, including Commercial and Duane Streets.
Another great one is RiverSea Gallery, which features a huge variety of works.
The smaller Astoria Visual Arts Gallery is another fun one to check out.
There are also a number of unique shops to peruse, including the Local Maker's Popup Shop.
Columbia Clay is where you can watch people create ceramic art — or learn to do it yourself!
You'll also see lots of art on various buildings, including at this food cart pod.
This fort re-enactment also includes fun artwork — do you see the cute bears?
Astoria also has a great variety of architectural delights from bygone eras.
There are also great landmarks to visit, such as the Flavel House Museum.
