10. The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.
Visit the wonderful Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in Eugene for only $5. Here's a photo of the museum's beautiful courtyard.
9. See a movie at the historic Hollywood Theatre.
This independent movie theater in Portland shows new and old film favorites, and tickets usually go for $5-$8. They also serve beer, wine, and delicious popcorn and pizza.
8. Take a stroll through the Portland Japanese Garden.
Though it's currently closed for renovation, the Portland Japanese Garden is absolutely beautiful and serene. Also, an adult ticket is only $9.50. Be sure to drop by when it re-opens this Spring.
7. Visit the Tillamook Air Museum.
This impressive aviation museum is located just south of Tillamook, and is housed in an enormous hangar that happens to be the largest clear-span wooden structure in the world. General admission is only $9.
6. Cruise the Crater Lake Rim Drive.
The scenery will blow you away.
5. Check out the Oregon Vortex and the House of Mystery.
Located in Gold Hill, the Oregon Vortex and House of Mystery is absolutely mind blowing--marbles roll uphill, brooms stand on their own, etc.--you've got to see it to believe it. This one's a tiny bit more expensive: Adults get in for $12.50, kids get in for $9, and seniors get in for $11.50.
4. Tour the Tillamook Cheese Factory.
The Tillamook Cheese Factory is in--you guessed it--Tillamook Oregon! Producing 171,000 pounds of cheese each day, the factory is a sight to behold. Lucky for us, they offer free tours of the facilities.
3. Go whale watching at Depoe Bay.
Grab your binoculars and head to the Depoe Bay Whale Watching Center to spot some whales; it's totally free!
2. Check out the Peterson Rock Garden.
Head over to Redmond to see the amazing Peterson Rock Garden. The entry fee is a $5 donation.
1. Visit a ghost town.
Oregon has more ghost towns than any other state in the country, just waiting to be explored. The photo above is from Shaniko, an incredible ghost town in Wasco County.
