This is one of those awesome hidden gems in Oklahoma you can't miss.
Few people know that hiding below Downtown Tulsa is an extensive network of secret tunnels that connect several skyscrapers. There are organized tours you can take where you'll get to explore these tunnels that once served as a way to protect the wealthy and elite from danger.
Construction of the tunnels began in 1929 by the owner, Waite Phillips, with an 80-foot tunnel that ran between the Philtower and the Philcade building.
Phillips, a wealthy businessman, was scared to travel between his buildings due to crime and chaos that was traveling across the country.
In total, the tunnels connect eight buildings, three parking garages, a hotel, several cafes, and small businesses.

The walking tour takes about one hour, as you'll walk below and above the streets of Tulsa. Your guide will educate you all along the way about the fascinating history and architecture of Tulsa.
