As the calendar turns from summer to fall, Oklahomans know that a few things are about to happen. Football season is about to start, the weather is about to get much more comfortable and the Tulsa State Fair is coming to town. The fair takes place at the Tulsa Expo Square from September 30-October 10, 2021, and draws in thousands of guests every year. If you missed out on the Oklahoma City Fair, this is almost as big and just as much fun.
The petting zoo is one of the highlights, especially for the younger crowd. Something about getting up close and personal with the animals is too much fun.
It is nearly criminal to come to the fair and leave without eating a corndog. Don't worry if you're not a fan of corndogs, there are about a million other items to try.
The rides are another part of the fair that will bring you back to your childhood. A lot of things have changed in the world over the years but these rides remain the same. Pick up a Mega Ride Pass and enjoy unlimited rides at a discounted price.
The car show is one of the largest in this part of the country. You could spend all day and not see every car. One bonus is that the car show is inside an air-conditioned building.
The Native American cultural displays are also a great way to learn about the state's history and heritage. There is a full schedule of live performances to watch all week long, so be sure to check the schedule.
The games might be our favorite part. Who doesn't love spending $20 to win a game where the prize is a $1 stuffed animal. All kidding aside, the games are always fun.
People watching is one of the more fun things to do while at the fair. Be prepared to see some interesting sites and have a little fun.
