The Greater Cincinnati Police Museum is a little known destination in our city that honors the history, the present, and the future of law enforcement in our area.

This police museum in Cincinnati sits on Reading Road, in a historic section of downtown, not far from the Hamilton County Courthouse. It's a noticeable building with a small sign, and definitely worthy of a visit.

The museum began through the Greater Cincinnati Police Historical Society and by those who wanted a place to properly represent this honorable profession.

The museum first opened in 2006 and continues to grow its collection and community awareness each year. It's open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Once inside the museum, you'll be impressed with the friendly welcome and amount of artifacts to explore. The museum is run by knowledgeable volunteers who work or have worked within the profession and have a great passion for the museum.

If you visit on a quieter day, one of the volunteers will happily take you around the museum, showing off the highlights and sharing intriguing facts and stories.

Be sure to check out the evolution of uniforms, weapons, and other law enforcement items that are on display within the museum.
