With so many holiday attractions around the Cincinnati area, everyone seems to have a different favorite. Each place offers something unique; some you can stay in your car, while others you'll want to bundle up to stroll through the lights and activities. Many of these holiday events in the Queen City have something for everyone and one such place is The Christmas Ranch near Cincinnati. At this outdoor attraction in Morrow, you can walk through thousands of twinkling lights, but you can also hop on a holiday wagon ride or train ride and experience this festive property in an entirely new way.
The Christmas Ranch near Cincinnati is a very popular holiday attraction, located in Morrow.
Set on a sprawling, outdoor property, a million lights decorate the land and buildings that make up this magical destination. Since you'll definitely have to walk through this display, be sure to bundle up!
This year, The Christmas Ranch opens on Nov. 17 and stays open through Dec. 23, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night. (Hours may vary slightly, so always check their website before you go!)
The cost is $32 per carload when you purchase your ticket online, or $37 when purchased at the Welcome Center. Once you arrive, you can walk around the property that's filled with dazzling light displays. Buildings are draped in colorful lights and whimsical characters wave hello as they light the way.
Definitely keep the weather in mind when you visit, as it can obviously be cold.
The paths throughout most of the property are gravel, but they can get muddy after heavy rain or melting snow. Strollers are welcome, just keep the conditions in mind.
There's a lot to explore at this massive display, some of which you can't actually get up close to on foot.
Luckily, The Christmas Ranch has a way for you to enjoy a unique perspective of the holiday lights near Cincinnati.
Take your family for a ride on Santa's Snow Wagon, which is available every evening, weather permitting.
Tickets for the holiday wagon ride at The Christmas Ranch are $4.50 per person and are quite lengthy as they take you around the perimeter of the ranch, so you can see all of the illuminated sights.
If you prefer, or if you have younger children, climb aboard The Reindeer Express.
This train ride is also $4.50 per person and takes a similar route. Keep in mind that the weight limit for each train car is 300 pounds, while there is no limit on the wagon ride.
After all of the outdoor fun, warm up inside one of several indoor spaces.
There are Christmas shops, displays, and a cafe where you can pick up a snack and some hot chocolate. Santa will also be at The Christmas Ranch and you are able to take photos with him, which are available for purchase.
Also be sure to save some time to hang out by the bonfire, while surrounded by the lights.
