Fall is the time for pumpkin patches, apple cider, and hayrides, but it's also the favorite time of year for those of us who enjoy a good scare. Halloween and the accompanying haunted attractions only come around once a year, so if you're going to pick just one to visit, you better choose the most terrifying. Very close to Cincinnati, in North Bend, Ohio, the Highway 50 Fright Field may just be the scariest haunted field around, and it's definitely not for the faint of heart.
Celebrating their 5th year of epic scares, Highway 50 Fright Field is a unique haunted attraction near Cincinnati that is quickly gaining a reputation as the most frightening spot in town.
Located on an actual 1830s farm near a real Indian archaeological site, the land that plays host to this haunted hike has a spooky history to begin with. Add in a bunch of zombies, blood, and pitch black skies, and you've got the ultimate fright fest.
The main attraction at the Fright Field is the Haunted Cornfield and Woods.
You'll enter the cornfield following a designated path, then trek into the woods and back into the corn field. The trail was extended this year for even more terrifying entertainment.
You never know who - or what - you'll encounter while on the trail.
The actors that turn this ordinary farm into a horror movie scene are incredible and many visitors say it's the best scare in the area. The makeup, costumes, and performances are as terrifying as it gets, so keep that in mind if you decide to brave this epic haunted trail.
The property also has many other attractions to keep you busy on an October evening.
There is another non-haunted corn maze, but when you tackle it at night, your imagination turns it into its own form of a haunted house. New this year, Fright Field also has Operation Termination Zombie Paintball, where you can live out your fantasies of ridding the world of the undead.
The farm is also home to the Buckeye Trading Post & Museum, which is open during the Fright Field activities. They also have daytime attractions if you don't think you can handle it all once the sun goes down.
Highway 50 Fright Field is open every Friday and Saturday night in October from 8pm to midnight, weather permitting. Heavy rain can shut down the field, so if you're unsure, call 513-353-0284 to check on its status. We're hoping for dry weekends in October, so all of those looking for a good scare this season can check out this terrifying haunted field!
A field or forest at night is scary enough, but add in the zombies and spooky time of year and the Highway 50 Fright Field is a Halloween-lover's delight! Have you been brave enough to venture into this field? Or maybe the corn maze in the dark? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
