North Dakota is a beautiful state with lots of amazing things to take pictures of, so it was sort of hard to narrow down a list of photo-taking paradises in the state, but here are 7 places that are full of potential when it comes to photography. That, and they also serve as great places to visit if you want to see their beauty in person.
1. Enchanted Highway
This highway is known for the many large, metal sculptures along it, such as the two shown here. There's a ton of interesting subjects along the road that are great for photo taking, and really interesting just to see!
2. Fort Abraham State Park
Located next to the beautiful Missouri River and full of neat historical sites and gorgeous views- it's a photographers paradise!
3. Park River, ND
A little different than you might expect, but this small town is actually a treasure trove for great shots. There is some lovely murals around as well as being a model for the perfect picturesque small town- with preserved ads and older buildings that almost make you feel like you are back in the past.
4. Theodore Roosevelt National Park
I admit, I mention this place often, but honestly it is beautiful- and certainly falls under the category of a photo-taking paradise. With views like these, I'd be like a kid in a candy shop with a camera there.
5. Turtle River State Park
This is a perfect place for outdoor activities, or if you just want a nice, serene place to be. The beautiful photo opportunities are just a plus!
6. Maah Daah Hey Trail
This long trail used mostly by bikers who want to see some amazing scenery also serves as a perfect place for some breathtaking shots. Whether you go by bike or not, this is one of those places you should definitely check out at least once in your life.
7. Lake Metigoshe State Park
Lake Metigoshe State Park is located way up north near the Canadian border and is full of scenes that honestly look like masterpieces. It is beautiful year round and deserves to be captured through anyone's creative mind and camera!
If you've taken any photos of these places and would like to share, we'd love to have them on the Only In North Dakota Facebook page. And, as always, would love to hear about your experiences at these places if you have any and about other things you think also deserve to be on this list!
