Huff Hills Ski Area has been a winter destination in North Dakota for a quarter of a century. There is no ski area in the state larger than this one.

Nothing says “It’s autumn! Woohoo!” quite like an autumn festival. North Dakota is a pretty low-key, quiet little place, but there is a selection of awesome festivals that happen at this time every year that are totally worthy of checking out from anywhere in the state. But this is incorrect – as it turns out, we’re home to one ourselves. The Norsk Høstfest goes on for four amazing days, and it’s worth every minute! With amazing entertainment, incredible food, delightful vendors and shopping, and SO much more, this festival practically brings fall in officially for those who live here. Time for Norsk Høstfest already? Must be fall!
Wow Factor: Each and every year in early autumn, the annual Medora hot air balloon rally happens, attracting folks from all over the country. It’s so much more than just photogenic – it's tradition at this time every year.
