Unidentified Flying Object reports have captured the imaginations of people all over the world, and this UFO sighting in North Carolina is no different. According to the Pew Research Center, most Americans (65%) say intelligent life exists outside Earth and don’t see UFOs as a major security threat (51%). The National UFO Reporting Center, founded in 1974, has processed more than 170,000 reports and shares that information with the public. Out of those thousands, one account from the mid-1950s was uncovered. As told by her daughter, a Morehead City woman described an experience one warm evening while driving home from the hospital.
UFOs can elicit fear and nightmares, such as the idea of alien abductions.
But for some of us, it is a very real experience, such as what happened one evening in Morehead City, North Carolina.
At dusk in the spring or summer, a woman had just left the hospital sitting across a two-lane street from Bogue Sound.
Sunbathers had spent a leisurely day at the beach.
While backing out of her parking spot, a round, saucer-shaped aircraft silently approached from the South very high over the water.
The woman stated the craft moved slowly and silently, and flew over the hospital.
She reported the craft was low enough to see what she called "portholes" around the outside of the saucer.
She described yellowish-white light coming from the "portholes," and wondered if the lights might be windows.
When she arrived home, she told her husband who told her to keep quiet about the incident so folks didn't think she was crazy.
A couple of days later an article was published in the local newspaper describing the account of a businessman who witnessed the craft flying over his gas station around 25th Street.
Research of these phenomena continues, including the contributions of the nonprofit International UFO Museum and Research Center at Roswell, New Mexico.
The Alien Autopsy room is one fascinating exhibit there. What do you believe?
