The popular flea market started in 1971 at the state fairgrounds with just six vendors. Today, it's still located at the fairgrounds but has come a long way since its humble beginnings.
The market now brings in more than a million visitors each year and spans several buildings and acres, with a variety of vendors selling items that range from antiques and vintage clothing to handmade crafts and pottery.
You can also find all sorts of books, records, handcrafted furniture, art, and fine jewelry.
Give yourself plenty of time to peruse — you never know what you might come across with plenty of trinkets and treasures to spend time sorting through.
The long-standing market has even garnered the attention of USA Today, which named it one of the 10 Best Flea Markets. CNN also ranked the Raleigh Flea Market as one of the best flea markets in America.
Raleigh Flea Market is open EVERY Saturday and Sunday throughout the year from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. — except for the month of October when the State Fair is in town.
Admission and parking are free. The market is located at 1025 Blue Ridge Rd., Raleigh, NC 27607.
