When it comes to strange or unusual objects, there's no place in North Carolina quite like the Museum of the Bizarre located right on Wilmington's waterfront. Step inside and be swept away by objects that could make you smile, or wince, or worse...
Welcome to the Museum of the Bizarre, where curiosities fill the space with enough real (and possibly not real) items to just make you wonder.
From seriously haunted items that are encased in air-tight cells to protect the public...
To a real hand of a Chupucabra, a legendary being found in the Americas and compared to vampires because it likes to drink the blood of livestock, the items here span from one end of the spectrum to the other.
This Chupucabra hand was reportedly found in the swamp somewhere here in North Carolina. (Woah!)
Want more? How about the two-headed goat?
Oh these definitely exist in real life. We don't see them often, but you'll get to see one at the Museum of the Bizarre.
And then, just for giggles, snap a photo of the famous Yellow Submarine.
Is it the one the Beatles sang about all those years ago?? You be the judge...
The Museum of the Bizarre is a fun, family-oriented attraction found in the waterfront district of Wilmington.
Every North Carolinian should visit at least once.
Have you ever been? What was the most stomach-turning exhibit you witnessed? We'd love to hear some feedback, so fire up some comments! Learn more about the museum on its official website, here.
Wilmington is one of the most vibrant riverfront cities in the state. While you're here, consider having a meal on a floating restaurant at Anne Bonny's, or pop over to Airlie Gardens for an enchanting garden walk.
