You'll find the incredible St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Roman Catholic Church in the Historic Polonia District on Buffalo's east side.
The church is the oldest Polish parish in the Diocese of Buffalo, with a history that dates back to the spring of 1873.
St. Stanislaus Church took four years to build and was completed in 1886.
To this day, the magnificent work of architecture and its intricate details are positively breathtaking.
From the ceilings to the floors, you’ll be in absolute awe when you visit.
Like many historic churches, the stained glass windows impeccably eye-catching.
The main altar of the St. Stanislaus Church stands 34 feet tall and is a true work of art in itself.
As you look to the back of the church, you'll see the Johnson & Son pipe organ in the choir loft. This incredible instrument has been a part of the church since 1893.
St. Stanislaus, also known as the 'Mother Church of Polonia’, is a stunning point of pride for Buffalonians with Polish ancestral roots, but even those without ties to Poland will feel a sense of peace and joy at this stunning landmark.
The church’s striking towers stand 217 feet tall and are a recognizable landmark on Townsend Street, so you’ll have no trouble finding this heavenly place.
