No matter where you live, everyone has that one major mind-blowing attraction that draws in visitors to their state from all over the world. Our residents are known for having a serious attraction to waterfalls, but there's one natural wonder in our state that's so powerful and magnificent, it fascinates and draws in millions of visitors every year. A part of America's oldest state park, the iconic destination has so many exciting outdoor attractions to keep visitors busy!
Excited to see all there is to offer? If you've never taken a visit to the American side of Niagara Falls, you'll definitely want to go after reading this:
That's right! First discovered in 1678 by a French explorer, the beautiful falls were established as a reservation back in 1885.
Well over a hundred years worth of fascinating history, Niagara Falls has been attracting adventurers for quite some time. An amazing landmark that we share with our northern neighbor Canada, we favor our side of the falls that showcases a marvelous view.
Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Niagara Falls State Park provides a variety of ways for you to see all there is to offer.
Visitors can choose to explore the park at their own pace or sit back and enjoy a ride on the Niagara Scenic Trolley.
A perk to hopping onboard the trolley is that you'll have a tour guide telling you interesting facts and history you never knew about the park, as well as talk about all the other amazing attractions you'll find here at Niagara Falls. The trolley runs a 3-mile trip that makes stops at a few locations throughout the park.
One of the most exciting adventures you can take at the falls is to explore the Cave of the Winds!
One of the things many people don't know about Niagara Falls? The walkways are taken down and removed each November to protect against the harsh weather conditions that are experienced during the winter months, being built again every spring for our visitors to enjoy! Insane, huh? Equip yourself with the classic rain poncho and sandals provided to you on your tour and endure the wild weather waiting for you at the bottom of the falls.

Another unique attraction of Niagara Falls is the Observation Tower, where visitors can see both the American and Canadian falls all at once!
As if the waterfalls here weren't epic enough, now we have this incredible Observation Tower that not only gives you incredible views but is also an incredible view itself! It's here at the tower where visitors looking to board the Maid of the Mist boat ride will take the elevator down to get to where they need to be.
If you're not up for exploring the Cave of the Winds, taking a boat ride out on the Maid of the Mist is another amazing way to get up close to the falls.
Seen in some of your favorite movies and TV shows, the famous boat rides of the Maid of the Mist are undeniably jaw-dropping. Sure you'll walk off the boat looking like someone just unexpectedly pushed you into a pool, but the memories will be completely worth it! Open this year from now until November 6th, the boat rides last a half hour.
