If you take a look at New York City, you'll see that this epic skyline is made up of nothing but iconic and photogenic buildings that are just waiting to greet you. While you can head to places like The Top of the Rock to enjoy incredible views of the Big Apple, it was recently announced that our residents and out-of-state visitors will have a new observation deck to look forward to. Wonder which building is getting this major update? Then keep scrolling to find out!
Located on the East Side of Manhattan, right at the intersection of 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue, the Chrysler Building is known for many reasons, like the fact that it’s the tallest brick building in the world with steel framework and the fact that it’s the 11th tallest building in New York City.
Recently and unanimously approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission, plans for an observation deck at the Chrysler Building are officially in motion.
One of New York's most iconic buildings, the plans for an observation deck and major restorations have come more than a year after Aby Rosen purchased the Chrysler Building, with the said intention of bringing the building back to life.
Once the observation deck is complete, breathtaking views of New York City will be available to all who come and soak in the sights from this part of the Chrysler Building, while also putting you just feet away from the building’s famous Art Deco eagles that you’ve most likely seen situated at the corners of the 61st floor!
With the approved plans set to put glass on the north and south terraces that are located on the 61st floor, visitors will be just below the top of the building with never-ending views of one of the world's greatest cities.
