By now as a New Yorker, you already know that there a quite a few railroads in our state that will take you on a scenic ride. Something some of our residents might not be aware of though is the fact that you can enjoy some of our favorite railroads even during the winter time! While many routes may shut down for the season, check out how this one amazing railroad museum will take you on the Christmas train ride of your life.
Throughout the year, many make the trip out to the small town of Medina to enjoy one of the most unique railroad museums on the East Coast.
The Medina Railroad Museum houses one of the country's largest model train layouts and also features actual train rides that you can take on vintage cars.
During the holiday season, the railroad transforms into a magical wonderland offering both Polar Express and Christmas train rides each year that's a family-favorite attraction.
This year the museum has even announced that there will be a new and bigger Santa Sleigh at the museum for family photo opportunities, something we're quite excited for!
Making sure everyone stays warm and toasty, you'll even find that the outdoor bathrooms are heated this year and feature running water.
Before you know it, you'll be boarding the Polar Express train with Santa himself.
The 1-hour long train ride takes passengers up to the North Pole, while on the way they'll get to listen to music from the Polar Express movie, hear Christmas carols, and enjoy storybook readings.
This year the museum has also announced that passengers can expect more lights and exciting displays with a 'new and improved' North Pole waiting for you!
So grab your favorite pair of Christmas pajamas and get the whole family on board, it's finally time to enjoy the holiday train rides at the Medina Railroad Museum.
Here's how it works, as of right now, the Medina Railroad Museum has available dates for their Polar Express ride on November 24th, December 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, and 16th.
