New Orleans has long been known as one of the most haunted cities in America. Between our cobblestone streets and above-ground cemeteries, many believe that spirits continue to linger on well past their expiration date. You certainly don’t have to travel very far to hear a ghost story or two in New Orleans, but there’s one museum in the Crescent City where you can wander through countless paranormal displays and maybe even connect with a spirit yourself.
You’ll find the Haunted Museum just on the edge of the French Quarter on North Rampart Street.
Located in a historic 200-year-old building, the museum itself is thought to be haunted. As you wander throughout the museum, don’t be surprised if you feel the heaviness in the air.
You’ll get to see several haunting collections, ranging from knives and knick knacks…
…to haunted dolls.
Lots of haunted dolls, actually.
You can also pick up a few mementos to remember your visit, including voodoo dolls, crystals, and candles.
You may even want to have a seance or speak to a psychic while you're there.
Seances occur on Sundays at 5 p.m., but you can also schedule a private seance in advance.
After the museum, keep the paranormal party going by taking one of their nightly ghost tours.
Both city and cemetery tours are offered, as well as a haunted pub tour.
Yes, even some of our bars are haunted. Even spirits need a spirit every now and then!
For more information, including details of ghost tours, seances, and psychic readings, visit their website, and don't forget to give them a follow on Facebook too. If you've ever visited the Haunted Museum, share your ghostly experience with us in the comments!
