Do you have plans for Independence Day yet? If you're like most people, your day will revolve around cookouts with family and friends, yard games, maybe a parade, and definitely fireworks. If you don't know where to go see fireworks in New Mexico this Fourth of July, we are here to help you. Here are some of the best places where to watch fireworks near me in New Mexico:
1. Star Spangled Celebration — Mescalero
This year's Inn of the Mountain Gods' Star Spangled Celebration will be held between 3 p.m. and midnight. It will start out with activities, live entertainment, kids' activities, and more fun! Then, when it gets dark, that's when one of the state's best fireworks displays will occur. Are you ready for a dazzling display to celebrate the 4th?
2. Red, White and Balloons presented by Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta®
Between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. on the 4th, the Red, White and Balloons festival will be going strong. Presented by the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta®, you'll be able to enjoy admission to the Balloon Museum, live music, a balloon glow, and gorgeous fireworks. Buy your tickets online ahead of time and prepare for a great day!
3. The Annual 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks Display — Las Cruces
The Annual 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks Display in Las Cruces starts on July 3rd with a 5K, a mile-long fun run, and an electric light parade. Starting at 6 p.m. on July 4th, you can listen to live music before the fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
4. Santa Fe Place Mall Fireworks Display
For a free fireworks show in Santa Fe, you must attend the Santa Fe Place Mall Fireworks Display. Earlier in the day, you can partake in Pancakes on the Plaza followed by perusing arts and crafts booths, food trucks, music, and more. Then you can view the incredible fireworks after dark. Sounds like a great time to me!
5. 4th of July Parade & Celebration — Red River
Head to Red River and you can spend the day at the 4th of July Parade & Celebration. There will be floats, food, and fireworks at this community-wide event, and you'll love every minute of it!
6. Freedom Days Celebration — Farmington
Celebrate the Independence Day season between June 28 and July 4 at the Farmington Freedom Days Celebration. Each day hosts a different set of events so make sure you check the website to plan what days you want to go. While July 4th is usually the time for fireworks in most places, that's not the case here. Fireworks will be held on July 3 at 9:25 p.m.
7. Red, White & Ute — Ute Lake 4th of July Celebration
The celebration of the 4th at Ute Lake is actually on July 6 starting at 10 a.m. Fireworks for the Red, White & Ute event will begin after dark. Come early in the day and you can see the celebratory parade that's sure to be a good time!
