New Mexico is well known for its winter activities. Whether you like skiing, snowboarding, or snowshoeing, some of the best mountains in the country for these activities can be found throughout the state. However, what many people don't realize, is that in the summer, these mountains become home to other, equally exciting activities including zip lines, ariel parks, and other fun outdoor activities.
Red River Ski & Summer Area is the perfect place for a summer vacation filled with exploration and adventure. Located at an elevation of 8,750 feet, you can have a blast with incredible mountain views.
There are actually three aerial parks at Red River; an easy course, a medium course, and a difficult course. On these courses, you will get to balance as you walk across logs, swing from ropes, and test your agility, all from high above the ground. Don't worry though, you'll be strapped in with a safety harness.
Other activities at Red River include taking a scenic summer chairlift, tubing down the mountain, mini golf, top disc golf, and hiking.
Much of Red River is also on The Carson National Forest. In Carson National Forest, you can also hike and even go for a horseback ride.
During your stay, you'll call one of these cabins home. There's nothing better than waking up next to a beautiful lake every morning.
With all the fun things available at Red River, you'll wish you could stay a whole week.
