Welcome to The amazing UFO Festival in Roswell where folks experience the unforgettable.
By the looks of this town, could you tell that Roswell is the UFO capital of the world?
This fun event coincides with some interesting history.
Sometime around Independence Day in 1947, strange materials were found in a rancher's field.
After sticks of metal, scraps, and later, a saucer were found, the U.S. Air Force became involved, and in 1950 even started doing "dummy drops" in Roswell, said to test the falls of pilots.
Many skeptics believed that these "tests" were really a coverup of the UFO droppings in Roswell.
The Air Force claimed the droppings and saucer were a part of their project, Project Mogul, which involved materials for weather balloons. Due to the strange ways they moved, many believe the government was trying to cover up extraterrestrial findings.
Now, every summer, Roswell embraces its UFO history in full force.
This three-day event aligns with the original, debated UFO sightings and offers a Roswell UFO Tour to discover significant locations of the incidents.
This festival might be wacky, but it sure is fun!
See the Glowbots Exhibition at the Miniatures & Curious Collections Museum. Guest speakers come from all over, and last year they hosted 38,000 aliens.
The event is for all, believers and skeptics alike, especially those who like to shop at the vendor tents.
