New Mexico already has an abundance of art and attractions, but this unique fusion of interactive entertainment and fantasy takes a trip to a museum to an entirely new level. The Santa Fe interactive art installation transports audiences into a fictional realm that can be likened to a dream state. It is a combination haunted house, jungle gym, mind exploration, and all-out fantasy. Here's why this Meow Wolf's Santa Fe Museum House of Eternal Return is unlike anything you've ever experienced:
The bowling pin signage is due to the museum occupying a previous building that housed a bowling alley. However, the bowling alley closed over a decade ago.
Meow Wolf is a bizarre 20,000 square foot storytelling experience. Its first exhibit is the House of Eternal Return. The exhibits will change on occasion, although a new theme has not yet been announced.
Even before you enter its doors, you know it's going to be interesting.
Various larger-than-life sculptures attract and welcome visitors.
The House of Eternal Return centers around a storyline involving a mysterious house and the family that lived there.
You'll see ordinary objects normally found in a home turned extraordinary. While the exhibit is intended to be exciting and thought-provoking, it is not meant to be scary.
Are you getting tunnel vision?
The exhibits encompasses mystery, adventure, time and space travel, art, and an overall anomaly. This hallway is known as TV tunnel vision.
You may find yourself literally crawling through a dryer and entering a new dimension.
Guests will interact with all sorts of interesting and odd personalities from all over the realm.
It's as close to Wonderland as you can get.
The exhibit features countless rooms, secret tunnels and doors, spaces, and realms to explore, and most guest find that spending hours there isn't enough.
Nothing is as seems here in this fantasyland.
Explorers will be surrounded by sound, visuals, video games, and interactive exhibits to explore and share.
The lightbox is a new part of the exhibit here in Santa Fe.
The exhibits are appropriate for all ages, and children as well as adults are entranced with the storyline and exhibits.
Most visitors agree they don't entirely cover all the storylines and mysteries on an initial visit, and plan a follow up to continue their exploration of the continuum. The museum is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. It is closed on Tuesdays. Find it at 1352 Rufina Circle in Santa Fe.
Have you ever visited this bizarre museum, and if so, what is your favorite part of the journey into another dimension? Do you have any photos or experiences to share?
