From High Point to Cape May, New Jersey is packed with jaw dropping places. I searched the state for something truly unique, and discovered Mount Mitchill in Atlantic Highlands. At 266 feet, this is the highest natural point on the Eastern Seaboard, south of Maine. On a clear day, it offers panoramic views of Sandy Hook, Raritan Bay, and the New York skyline. The 12-acre park is also home to Monmouth County's 9/11 memorial.

You can see several New York City boroughs, Sandy Hook Bay, the Atlantic Ocean, and other scenic locations on a clear day.

Even on a hazy day, the views are amazing. Be sure to bring your quarters, binoculars are available to visitors who want explore the sights up close.
Viewing Area
A shaded area is available with benches so visitors can relax and enjoy the sights.
Memorial Walkway
You'll also find a walkway which acts as a timeline of the events on September 11th. Though it is a somber stroll, it serves as a reminder of all New Jersey lost on that awful day. 147 Monmouth County residents perished in the attacks.
