Ocean City, New Jersey is a coastal town on the Jersey Shore with a population of just over 11,000. Aside from its well-known beaches and boardwalk, it has another side to it, for those who like to follow the spirits and ghosts of souls who came before us. The Flanders Hotel was built in 1923 as a summer retreat for the wealthy of Philadelphia and New York. Emily, a young woman with long curly hair and a flowing white dress, is a ghost who is seen wandering the hallways barefoot.
As the story goes, Emily worked at the hotel. She lost her engagement ring and is still looking for it. She is a cheerful soul, and sometimes has been heard singing.

Seemingly, the hotel restaurant, Emily’s, was even named for the friendly omnipresent apparition.
The Ocean City Mansion was built in 1898 and later renovated to become the charming bed and breakfast it is today. During the renovations, the owners began to hear footsteps and voices, even though nobody else was present in the house.
Chandeliers were seen moving on their own. Any ghosts here are friendly and amicable.

South Jersey Paranormal Research conducted an investigation and found activity of a spiritual nature in the house.
The proprietor of the inn was interviewed about it for a magazine article. Your furry friend is welcome to join you during your stay at this quaint and cozy accommodation.
Legend has it that even City Hall is haunted, by a former mayor, who frequents the building mostly when there are few other people there, at odd hours of the day.
In the alley behind City Hall, people have seen the ghosts of two individuals who jumped to their deaths from the Crown Bank Building, and of the maintenance worker electrocuted there. Head over to 17th Street Beach and you could encounter the spirits of those who perished on many a shipwreck. The Sindia was sailing from Japan to New York City in 1901 when it ran aground in Ocean City – it is still there under the sand.
