From Vermont to New Hampshire, New England has more amazing winter destinations than you can shake a stick at. Nevertheless, there's one small Granite State town that seems to end up recommended by all the travel magazines – and for good reason. This spot is perfectly situated for all of the winter adventures you can imagine. Come discover why the town of Jackson is the premier winter getaway in New Hampshire!
Jackson is pretty tiny as towns come – it only has 1067 permanent residents.
However, it's a huge resort destination, and for very good reason.
Nestled in the White Mountains, it's perfectly situated to take in all that winter in the Granite State has to offer.
The town has plenty of lodging offerings, including the beautiful Christmas Farm Inn, where you can also get a great meal.
There's a big cross-country ski touring center where you can rent skis and get lessons from experts.
Of course, there are plenty of downhill skiing options in the area as well, including the fantastic Wildcat Mountain.
You probably won't want to climb or drive up nearby Mount Washington in the winter, but you can take a ride up in a specially outfitted SnowCoach to see the most gorgeous snowy sights.
When you're tired of the mountains, head to the wonderful Nestlenook Farm, where you can ski on a gorgeous outdoor rink or take a magical horse-drawn sleigh ride.
