Most of us probably do the majority of our grocery shopping at large national or regional chains. Much as we all love Market Basket, sometimes it's great to switch it up, support a small local business, and get our food at an independent supermarket. Here are 8 of our favorite New Hampshire options, in no particular order.

1. Kulick's Market, Winchester

2. On the Vine Marketplace, Exeter

This Exeter shop, which recently opened a second location in Maine, offers great quality meats and produce, along with an excellent selection of beer and wine. They source many products locally. Stop by at 75 Portsmouth Ave Exeter NH 03833.

3. Patriots Corner Grocery, Hampton

This is the spot to go to load up on supplies for a beach trip - from all the typical grocery items to beach chairs and other sundries, you'll find what you need. Stop in at 29 Ocean Blvd Hampton, NH 03842.

4. Colonial Village Pharmacy - Supermarket, Contoocook

This small-town grocer offers everything you could possibly need, including a full-service pharmacy. They also have a good selection of household products and other necessities, and they make a mean sandwich in their deli. Visit at 54 Park Ave Plz

5. Lovell Lake Food Center, Sanbornville

This Sanbornville spot has been a standby for nearly 50 years. Visit during their Truckload Meat Sales for fantastic savings. They're located at 66 Meadow St, Sanbornville, NH 03872.

6. Harvest Market, Wolfeboro

This Wolfeboro spot also has locations in Bedford and Hollis. It's got a great craft beer selection, and you can build your own six pack if you want to mix and match. Shop at 36 Center St Wolfeboro, NH 03894.

7. Ralph's Supermarket, Charlestown

This family run supermarket has been in operation since 1970, and offers everything you'll need, plus great takeout pizza. Keep an eye on their weekly specials for good deals. Visit at 197 Main St Charlestown, NH 03603.

8. Co-op Food Store, Lebanon

This Upper Valley mainstay has locations in Lebanon and Hanover, as well as over the border in White River Junction, VT. You'll find a huge selection of local and organic produce and meat, as well as a wide variety of beer and wine. The Lebanon location is located at 12 Centerra Pkwy Lebanon, NH 03766.
