In New Hampshire we get a lot of beautiful scenery, from breaking waves to rolling mountains and trees bursting with color. While we expect to see some gorgeous sites driving around, sometimes you'll pass something in New Hampshire that is just plain weird. These 6 strange spots in New Hampshire will make you stop and look twice.
1. The Rocket, Warren
The Redstone Rocket is a remnant of the Cold War that somehow made its way onto the town green in this sleepy New Hampshire town.
2. The Tilton Arch, Tilton
This 55-foot arch constructed of New Hampshire granite was built by Charles Tilton, who was inspired by the arches he saw in Rome. We can't say exactly why he wanted one on New Hampshire, but here it is. You can see it at the corner of Memorial and Elm.
3. The Bears, Clark's Trading Post, Lincoln
It's not wholly unexpected to see a bear while driving through New Hampshire, but in Lincoln you might even see bears doing tricks. The bears at Clark's Trading Post have been learning tricks for generations, and you can take a peak at them driving by at 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Lincoln.
4. The Trojan Horse, Epson
The trojan horse first emerged as a protest symbol, in 1977. However, it disappeared last year after the store when it stood closed down. Rumor has it that the horse may be making a return, so keep an eye open when you're driving through Epsom! The horse was located at 1782 Dover Road, Epsom.
5. Mercury-Redstone Rocket, Concord
The rocket outside the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord also has a rocket, and this one is sometimes visible as you drive up 93-North.
6. The U.S.S. Albacore, Portsmouth
This research submarine is now in permanent dry docks just off a busy road in Portsmouth, making hundreds of motorists do a double take each day. Find her at 600 Market Street, Portsmouth.
