States all over the country offer things that are totally unique to that region. We love to travel to enjoy these things, but at the end of the day, our favorite place is always New Hampshire. While there are a lot of reasons for that, most of those reasons involve things we just can't find in any other state. Here are just a few of our favorite places and experiences!
1. The largest arcade in the world
FUNSPOT in Laconia has been around since 1952 and has over 600 different games. The arcade offers both a place to enjoy the day and learn some history. The American Classic Arcade Museum section of FUNSPOT features 300 of the most classic games. You can learn more about it by checking out this article.
2. Unique features hiding in nature
Hikes and trails can be found throughout New Hampshire, but for something extra special head to Benson Park in Hudson. The area was once Benson’s Wild Animal Farm, but it closed in 1987. Today visitors can explore the trails while catching a gimpse or two of the park's former glory. Learn more about it here.
3. Restaurants overlooking quaint covered bridges
The Covered Bridge Farm Table in Campton overlooks the Blair Covered Bridge dating back to 1829. The restaurant offers fresh, local food and an incredible brunch. But the views are what we can't get enough of! Looking out over the Pemigewasset River, this place is truly unique. You can learn more about it here.
4. The most incredible mountain and road to explore it.
Mount Washington might be New Hampshire's most recognizable nature feature. It offers lots of hiking trails as well as attractions at the summit. While the things found at the top are fun, we love the journey to get there even more! The Auto Road offers some of the most incredible views in the state and it's even got some history. You can learn more about it by clicking here.
5. The most incredible overnight stays
Located all over the state, there are cabins and cottages waiting to host a perfect weekend for you. But we especially love the ones nestled in the woods with amenities like firepits and hot tubs. Click here to find some of our favorites!
6. Restaurants that inspired our childhood favorites
Pickety Place in Mason was the inspiration for the illustrations in the classic Little Golden Book version of The Little Red Riding Hood. Visiting is likely to bring back some wonderful memories but it's also absolutely delicious! Check out more here.
7. The most beautiful areas of peace and quiet
New Hampshire offers an idyllic feeling of peace and it's fairly easy to find it. While nature is everywhere in our state, we particularly love the Little White Church in Eaton Center. Located next to Crystal Lake, this adorable little church has been around since 1879. You can learn more about it here.
What are some of your favorite things to experience in New Hampshire? Let us know in the comments so we can check them out, too!
The state is full of fun outdoor experiences, but we recently came across one we especially love! Stay in a charming New Hampshire cottage with its own lakefront views.
