Is there anything better than a deliciously creamy piece of chocolate just when your body is craving a dose of sugar? We say no and that's why we're always on the lookout for new varieties to try. It's a hard job, but someone's got to do it and we're so happy it's us! The best thing about looking for new types of chocolate is visiting chocolate shops across the state and this one is a current favorite. With lots of history and recipes that have been perfected, we think you'll love it as much as we do. The shop is like a homage to all things chocolate and visiting almost feels like a trip through a museum.
Van Otis Chocolates first opened in Manchester more than 85 years ago in 1935. It's been a favorite among locals and visitors ever since.
There's also a Wolfeboro location, combining the sweetness of lake life and the ability to satisfy a sweet tooth.
Inside you'll find an homage to their long history. But what we're really here for are their many different varieties of chocolate.
They might be best known for their truffles, which are made using a recipe that's been absolutely perfected.
This chocolate shop makes all their own sweets and their factory is always busy. This is why visiting feels bit like a trip to a museum.
While currently on hiatus, they offer fun, hands-on tours allowing visitors to be chocolatiers for the day.
We're patiently waiting for them to bring these $5 tours back, but until then we love simply watching the goods being made from afar.
There's always something deliciously seasonal to leave with, like these apples in the fall.
And everything is meticulously crafted for the highest quality.
Van Otis Chocolates is a great place to pick up a gift or leave with something special just for you.
You can visit their two locations to shop, or check them out through their online shop via the link below. Either way you'll satisfy your sweet tooth in the best way possible.
