Without a doubt, we can all agree that the amazing castles in New Hampshire help to make it one of the most beautiful states in America. From the White Mountains to the seacoast to the rivers, lakes, and landscapes in between, there's plenty to see. In fact, you'll find a place to disappear just about everywhere. You can't deny that the natural landscape is stunning; however, thanks to this beautiful building in New Hampshire, Hogwarts is alive and well, making an argument for finding the beauty in the manmade.
Searles Castle in Windham is one of the most unique structures you'll find in New England.
We're lucky enough to have Hogwarts in New Hampshire right here in our own backyard.
One of the prettiest castles near me sits majestically on top of the 175-acre Searles estate.
An impressively beautiful building, one of the finest castles in New Hampshire was built between 1905 and 1915 by Henry Vaughan.
It was commissioned by Edward Francis Searles and intended to be a one-quarter-scale copy of a medieval Tudor manor in England.
The otherwordly castle offers Hogwarts in New Hampshire, with a reception hall, dining room, music room, and library.
It also has a second- and third-floor guest suite, a sun porch, servants’ rooms, a kitchen, a master bedroom suite, and other grand rooms and features. We love to spend time in this magical place.
Examples of the fine work are found in the carved, oak balcony and marble fireplaces.
After Searles died in 1920 the castle changed hands several times.
Eventually, it was sold to the Religious Order of the Sisters of Mercy, a Catholic organization.
It was home to the sisters for quite some time before it ultimately underwent renovations and became an event space in the 1990s.
Today, it's one of the most beautiful places in the state to host an event.
Throughout the year Searles Castle plays host to holiday parties, retreats, and other celebrations.
It's particularly perfect for a dreamy wedding.
With a history dating back to the early 1900s, one of the fascinating castles near me is a great way to peek into the past.
As you can see, Searles Castle is one of the finest castles in New Hampshire. Reserve this gorgeous place today by visiting the Searles Castle website. And while you're in Windham, try some yummy treats from Klemm's Bakery.
