New Hampshire's coastline is not something the state is known for, although those who live here or visit often know that it's beautiful and a lot of fun! Typically, most people think about the White Mountains when they consider visiting New Hampshire. But the truth is that the coastline is pretty great and offers plenty of fantastic seafood, too. We've already rounded up some of our favorite spots along the coast, but we can't forget the eats! To make the most of your next NH seacoast road trip, make plans to visit one can't-miss festival this fall: the Hampton Beach Seafood Festival. In 2024, the festival will take place September 6-8. This delicious extravaganza is quite possibly the biggest seafood festival in New Hampshire, and you're sure to love it.
Hampton Beach is one of the most popular coastal destinations in New Hampshire. And for good reason! The sea and sand are gorgeous and there's so much to do in the area.
While making a visit with family and friends during the summer is a local must-do, there's one great reason to save your visit for fall.
The Hampton Beach Seafood Festival takes place every year, and is worth a special trip, detour, or long vacay to experience.
The event features three days of fun, including plenty of food vendors, allowing visitors to taste a little bit of everything.
The best seafood in New Hampshire can be found here! Things like lobster rolls and stew are certainly on the menu, and with so many different vendors participating, it's fun to try a few different ways to enjoy the same dish.
The traditional things are great, but we're also a fan of the inventive, unexpected items that are on offer here.
Or just creative twists on classics.
Sample a little of everything, if you can!
And, of course, you can't forget the fun seafood twist on adult beverages.
Once you've made your plan for all the food you'd like to try, make sure you have time carved out to catch the annual lobster roll eating contest. Coney Island has nothing on a New Englander on a mission to house some lobster!
There are also fun food preparation demonstrations for the budding chef.
Seafood is the main attraction here, but don't forget the other vendors offering things like donuts, pastries, and even the famous donut ice cream cone.
There are lots of other fun things taking place throughout the weekend, including competitions and games. Cornhole anyone?
Remember to come hungry, but be prepared to pay individually for the food you'll be trying. Other than that, show up, eat up, and have fun at one of the best festivals in New Hampshire!
