And, few places offer more opportunities to find quality, homemade goods allowing you to support local business. 1. Harrisville General Store, Harrisville

For almost two centuries, this little spot has been helping locals get through the day. Built in 1883 it has some serious history and today it's operated by local non-profit, historic Harrisville. 2. Vernondale Store, North Sutton

We love just how functional this store is. You can certainly get the old-timey stuff like penny candy, but we love that you can stop in for pizza and even some gluten free offerings. Find them at: 1526 NH-114, North Sutton / 603-927-4256.

3. The Old Country Store and Museum, Moultonborough

Head to the Lakes Region to enjoy this fun little store. it's been around for ages and hearkens back to the days of early New Hampshire vacation towns. Today it still delights visitors and locals and they've got everything from old-timey candy to local crafts and snacks. They're located at: 1011 Whittier Hwy., Moultonborough / 603-476-5750.

4. Calef's Country Store, Barrington

In operation since 1869, Calef's just feels special. Maybe it's the fact that the place was started when the Calef family mortgaged their farm to start the store. That's dedication! Today you'll find a wonderful deli making some of the best sandwiches in the area. There's also a great selection of handmade treats. 5. Fadden's General Store, North Woodstock

If you've got a sweet tooth you'll love this little spot. The Maple syrup here is hailed as some of the best in the state, making this a must-visit when you've got visitors. Give them a visit at: 109 Main St., North Woodstock / 603-745-8371.

6. Zeb's General Store, North Conway

Okay, so this one might be a bit touristy versus quaint but how could we leave it off. You'll still find plenty of homemade things here - from crafts to snacks - and it's just a fun place to visit! They're located at: 2675 White Mountain Hwy., North Conway / 603-356-9294.

7. Mont Vernon General Store, Mont Vernon

The only general store in this small town in southern New Hampshire, you'll be glad they exist! There are lots of local products on offer and the setting is perfectly country. Find them at: 10 N Main St., Mont Vernon / 603-554-1480.

8. North Conway 5 & 10 Cent Store, North Conway

North Conway's oldest continually operating retail store also happens to one of the most delightful stores you can step into. It's chock full of interesting vintage items and while it might not be the best place to get a snack, we snuck it onto this list just because it's lovely. We also love antique shops in New Hampshire. This one is only open one weekend every month and each one is worth the wait!
