The Virginia & Truckee Railway offers a truly unique Toast of the Canyon Wine Tasting tour. This wine railroad tour takes a scenic ride through the Carson River Canyon during which time guests are treated to wine and appetizers as they view breathtaking scenery of the canyon. Enjoy a jaunt on the restored Virginia & Truckee Railway; also known as the "Queen of the Short Lines." This restored steam train treats guests to breathtaking backdrops of the picturesque and striking Nevada high desert as it winds its way through the scenic canyon.
This fully narrated tour departs Carson City's Eastgate Depot into the Carson River Canyon and takes approximately 45 minutes.
Riders are treated to views of the "Iron Horse" as it steams past the passenger train, reattaches, and pulls riders back up and out of the canyon.
This part of Nevada has some truly spectacular scenery.
Riders are able to see part of the V&T's route not covered in its regular routes between Virginia City and Carson City.
Guests will enjoy appetizers provided by Carson City's own Red’s Old 395 Grill and a glass of locally-produced wine.
