Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is one of the most stunning sights in Nevada. One of the best and most accessible ways to enjoy this natural wonder is by trekking along the Red Springs Boardwalk in Nevada. This trail is likely much easier than you might imagine.
The half-mile loop trail to the Red Springs Boardwalk takes you among some of those beautiful red peaks in the state. This trail has been marked as easy, which makes it very appropriate for families with children.
Hikers of all skill levels enjoy this scenic trail, whether it's a cool down from a more vigorous hike or as an accessible outdoor option for those using mobility devices.
Along the trail, you'll find informational boards discussing the local flora and fauna which adds a nice educational touch to the nature walk.
The famous color of the rocks you'll see comes from the presence of iron oxide in the stone. When exposed to the elements it causes the iron to oxidize or "rust" resulting in the beautiful red hue.
Sometimes rangers lead group walks along this trail providing information about the surrounding area.
Previous hikers do note to be careful of the metal railing along the trail. Many have received a static electricity shock from touching it under certain conditions. Photo sessions are also common on this route although they shouldn't necessarily hinder your enjoyment of the walk.
