A lot of people say "Everything's bigger in Texas", but we would argue the same for Nevada. Las Vegas, especially, has become world-famous for being a place where everything is larger than life. The buffets, the buildings, the shows—everything is delightfully over-the-top. That's why it only makes sense for it to be the home of the world's largest Ferris wheel. Opened to the public just five years ago, taking a ride on this exhilarating structure is a must for any Nevadan.
At a whopping 550-feet tall, the High Roller in Las Vegas is considered the tallest Ferris wheel in the world. We think it's safe to say riding on it is a thrilling experience you're bound to remember, and every Nevadan should have it on their bucket list.
The High Roller officially opened to the public on March 31, 2014. Its predecessor for tallest Ferris wheel in the world was the 541-foot Singapore Flyer and it held the record since 2008.
Considered the crown jewel of The LINQ, a 2,400-room hotel and casionino, the High Roller is definitely an impressive sight. Boasting 28 40-person spherical cabins, the Ferris wheel is capable of holding 1,120 passengers at a time.
Of course, the view from the top is simply outstanding. From here you'll have the perfect birds-eye-view of the sprawling city of Las Vegas, surrounded by huge swaths of desert. The view is both humbling and capable of making you feel like you're on top of the world.
The wheel takes 30 minutes to complete an entire rotation. Riding on the wheel is great for simply taking in the view, enjoying a romantic evening with a loved one, or partying it up with friends and family. In fact, some cabins are even equipped with an open bar and a bartender to serve up the fun!
Additionally, the High Roller is always hosting some sort of special event. From yoga classes in the sky to chocolate and wine pairings in the evening, the High Roller is a unique venue for almost any event you can think of.
If you're all about getting that picture-perfect Instagram photo, we recommend booking a sunset or evening ride. The lights from the city can't be enjoyed any other way. Afterward, stop by the gift shop for a souvenir to memorialize your experience!
Ticket prices are as follows: daytime tickets are $25, nighttime tickets are $37, youth daytime tickets are $10, youth nighttime tickets are $20, and children under 6 are free. Las Vegas locals are eligible for up to 50% off regular price tickets! Address: 3545 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109
