The Discovery Children's Museum in Las Vegas is a unique destination that is bound to blow both kids and adults away. This place is far from what you'd expect of a typical "museum". In fact, it's so much more than that.
First of all, this place is massive. The 58,000-square-foot facility is three stories tall, and it's chock full of interactive exhibits and engaging experiences.
The museum's mission is to "provide a vibrant experience, through exhibits and programs, where children from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds participate in playful learning experiences." Part of what makes this museum so great is that it's truly for anyone and everyone.
Yes, the exhibits are educational, but they feel more like "play exhibits" than anything else. For example, The Summit is a 70-foot tower that encompasses 2,200-square-feet. As visitors climb, they'll come across interactive exhibits that teach concepts like visual perception, light, sounds, energy, and air pressure—just to name a few.
Patents Pending is another ongoing exhibit that kids seem to gravitate toward. The lively laboratory environment is a place where visitors can create and test engineering ideas. Challenge yourself to create something that can withstand a 14-foot drop. It's way more fun than you'd expect!
The children's museum also host various traveling exhibits. Opening on February 9 is "Alien Worlds and Androids". In this exhibit, visitors will blast off to a world where science fiction meets science fact.
The museum also puts on a variety of workshops for children and families. These workshops are meant to both educate and entertain. Several of them are presented monthly, which means that there is nearly always something fascinating going on at the museum.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. If you wonder why Las Vegas local Zak Bagans' — of Ghost Adventures fame — The Haunted Museum in Las Vegas was voted the No. 1 Best Haunted Destination in America in USA Today — then go if you dare. But be warned, this museum of the paranormal is filled with curiosities from Bagans' own collection which he claims is filled with mystical energy (in other words: haunted.) Regardless of whether you believe in the paranormal or not, this museum is earning rave reviews. Let's take a look at one of the most thrilling Las Vegas museums.
Actually, this 11,000-square-foot, 30-room mansion was constructed in 1938 and was originally owned by banker Cyril Wengert. The house has often been the subject of paranormal goings-on, a fitting history for The Haunted Museum in Las Vegas.
Visitors must sign waivers before entering the museum.
During the construction, however, two workers ran from the mansion and quit, while other workers claimed they frequently felt odd — as if the life was being sucked out of them.
One addition to the house are the stairs from the basement, the dirt that was underneath, and other ritualistic items from The Demon House in Gary, Indiana.
His 1966 Pontiac Hearse even has a coffin-shaped speaker box.
While the museum may or may not be haunted, visitors have reported hearing voices, seeing apparitions, and having physical reactions like scratches on their skin, temporary paralysis, and other reactions.
