A day at the museum makes for the perfect rainy Saturday, wouldn't you say? You may think of New York City or Washington, DC, maybe sneak San Francisco in there if you're looking for a great cluster of museums - but Nashville. Nashville has a handful of stunning places that will leave your guests clamoring to visit and your children in awe of their beautiful state. Have you visited them all?

1. Country Music Hall of Fame

Open from 9-5, Monday through Sunday, the Country Music Hall of Fame is one of the most lauded and visited museums in Nashville. You find everything from Taylor Swift's Macbook (yep, she penned her famous songs on it!) to the Cadillac that once belonged to Elvis. Museum tickets are valid the entire day and will cost you $24.95 for adults, and $14.95 for children between the ages of 5 and twelve. (222 5th Ave S)

2. The Frist

The Frist is Nashville's premier art museum, one that hosts rotating educational programs and art exhibits that speak to the whole of Music City. They have an indoor cafeteria and multiple events over the course of the year, making this a must for all of your artsy friends. It's free to visit for all under eighteen, and $12 for standard adults. Hours vary by day, so make sure to plan accordingly! (919 Broadway)

3. Cheekwood Botanical Gardens & Museum of Art

The 55-acre botanical garden known as Cheekwood is lauded for its gorgeous gardens and radical display of Christmas lights, but it's the mansion that really catches our eye. The art museum housed within the stone walls is a gorgeous representation of graphic artistry, both new and old. You can visit when it re-opens on June 17th from 9-5, Tuesday through Sunday, with tickets coming in at $20 for adults. (1200 Forrest Park Drive)

4. The Johnny Cash Museum

This downtown museum hosts a whole site of Cash memorabilia and photographs from his iconic life. You'll want to plan ahead for your visit, but the hours are stable: 9am-7pm, seven days a week. Tickets will set you back $19.95 for an adult and $14.95 for kids, but we'd recommend checking out coupon sites - there's always a deal floating around! (119 3rd Ave S)

5. Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum

This isn't the country music hall of fame - it regards musicians and their instruments, which is a whole new ball game. The museum doesn't even stick to country! Come if you're looking for an all-around history lesson on music and the people who make it sing. Tickets are $24 for adults and $14 for kids, and you can visit from 10am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday. (401 Gay Street)

6. Adventure Science Center

Great for kids, the Adventure Science Center is a hands-on way to understand the world around you and all the little bits and pieces that make it tick. Open all week from 10-5, this is an exploratory museum that's fun for the adults, too. They even hold events that are catered towards adults, so check their event calendar! Tickets are $14.95 for adults and $10.95 for kids, but be prepared to pay a couple bucks extra to visit the Planetarium. (800 Fort Negley Blvd)

7. Tennessee State Museum

The Tennessee State Museum is a fun, free way to experience the history of our state like never before. This is where the 13th Amendment was hosted during its display in Nashville in 2013, and it continues to host field trips and curious adults on a daily basis. Their new space is being built on the north end of town, and should be ready for a move by next year. Check their hours before you go - the variance depends on the day. (505 Deaderick Street)
