Nashville has quite a few incredible ties to Tennessee's history, but there are a few spots around the downtown area that really stand out. If you're looking to indulge in a few sweet treats and pick up an antique or two along the way, then a visit to Marathon Village may just be what you're looking for. If you have a spare afternoon or a Saturday, then this just might be the place for you to explore.
Marathon Village is an industrial, brick-laden building just outside of downtown Nashville that once operated as Marathon Motor, the home of the first vehicle built in the south.
Now, it operates as a community of retail shops, venue spaces, restaurants and offices that service the city of Nashville.
As you wander the halls, you'll find all sorts of documentation and photographs that herald the building's past. It's a true Nashville gem, to find a renovated space that pays homage to its history.
There's even a museum that's located in what once was the building's original showroom, so you'll be able to see what used to go on behind the renovated Nashville walls.
Marathon Village has expanded in recent years, and hosts more retail businesses and service-oriented spaces than ever before. You'll find everything from Radio, Lightning 100 to the Ingram Design Collective taking up space in this hidden city of sorts.
The Jack Daniel's General Store is always fun, as is the well-known Antique Archeology, Nashville Olive Oil Company and Bang! Candy Company.
If you're looking to experience the fun for yourself, you can head on over to 1305 Clinton Street, right in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee.

You can continue to explore this great state with a visit one of these quintessential Tennessee restaurants.
