New Orleans is located roughly seven hours south of Nashville, a thrumming city alive with music, color and exuberant people. Music City decided to bring a little bit of its southern neighbor's life to our downtown area with the opening of Rudy's Jazz Room. Located just outside of the popular Gulch neighborhood, this is one beautiful place that's more than worth the visit. Care to take a visit with us? You may just forget you're in Tennessee...
Nashville may be known as, "Music City," but Rudy's recognized that our beautiful town was forgetting one very important facet of the music industry: jazz.
The whole club pulses with music, exuding a vibe of southern soul and brilliance you won't find anywhere else in the city. The quirky space blends the feel of New York and New Orleans, upping the ante on the Nashville music scene.
The space is supposed to feel intimate and warm, where you can come and eat good food and hear better music. The listening room was also designed with high quality acoustics in mind, which means you won't have to strain to hear the music. It will simply envelop you.
The co-owner and club chef, Michael Braden, hails from New Orleans and brings a history of Creole cuisine to the hoppin' spot. It doesn't get more real than a local, wouldn't you say?
Adam Charney, who co-owns the space as well, grew up in Nashville but fell in love with the jazz clubs of New York city. His extensive experience in both realms helps feed the brilliant character you'll find at Rudy's.
Nashville has been waiting for a space like this, friends. A place where you can grab a drink and sway to the music, where you can over-indulge in delicious Louisiana fare and hear your favorite jazz pieces late into the night. Whether you're a lover of the genre or just looking to branch out, this is the space to do it.
You can visit for yourself at 809 Gleaves Street in Nashville, Tennessee. Open from 5pm to midnight Sunday to Tuesday, 5pm to 1am on Wednesday and 5pm to 3am Thursday through Saturday, we're 100% confident you can find some space in your schedule for something fun.
