The Fourth of July is coming up, and as you get ready to pack up your picnics and your littles you may be asking, "Hey. Where are the fireworks near me?!" Last year, Nashville was described as having the second best Fourth of July fireworks displays in America, behind only New York City! We highlighted some of the best shows in the area for 2016 here, and this year we've got even more for you to choose from. Whether you live in Davidson County or one of the surrounding counties, there's sure to be more than a few of these right in your own backyard. We dare you to visit as many as possible.

1. Let Freedom Sing! - Nashville

Nashville's annual fireworks celebration is always a huge draw for the city. This year's edition features free concerts from Chris Young, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and, as always, the Nashville Symphony. Festivities start at noon on Tuesday the 4th with the fireworks taking place once it gets dark. You can even head over the bridge to East Nashville for the Hot Chicken Festival, which is scheduled from 11 AM to 3 PM at East Park. No time is set for the fireworks yet, but with sunset scheduled for just after 8 PM, we recommend being in place to watch the show no later than 8:30. To beat the crowds downtown, it's a good idea to be there even earlier.

2. Nashville Sounds Independence Day Celebration

On Monday July 3rd, the Nashville Sounds are playing the Oklahoma City Dodgers at 7 o'clock at First Tennessee Bank Stadium just North of downtown. After the game, the stadium is putting on a fireworks display to celebrate Independence Day. Tickets for the game are available on the Nashville Sounds website, but if you happen to find yourself in the area of the ballpark, the fireworks will likely start around 10 o'clock, depending on how long the game lasts.

3. Murfreesboro July 4th Celebration

Murfreesboro is celebrating Independence Day on the 4th this year with family-centered activities and events scheduled throughout the day. Their "Rock the Pool" party at the Sports.com Outdoor Pool starts at 10 AM, and festivities move across the parking lot to McKnight Park for live music and more starting at 3:30. Fireworks, accompanied by the Murfreesboro Symphony, start at 9pm. Be sure to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit on!

4. La Vergne July 4th Celebration

La Vergne's fireworks for 2017 will take place on July 4th at the Veterans Memorial Park just off of Murfreesboro Road. A concert from Missy Garnet and the Two Dollar Pistols starts at 6:30 PM with the fireworks scheduled to begin at dusk, likely meaning around 9 PM. Food vendors will be on site, but everyone is invited to bring a picnic and enjoy the show!

5. Smyrna's Independence Day Celebration

Scheduled for Monday, July 3rd, Smyrna's Independence Day Celebration will take place at Lee Victory Recreation Park on Sam Ridley Parkway. The park will have plenty of family-friendly activities available, including inflatable playgrounds for the kids, on-site concessions, live music, and train rides provided by the C&R Railroad. Fireworks are scheduled for 9 PM, but roads around the park will be closed just before the fireworks go off, so be sure to get there with plenty of time to find a good spot to enjoy the show.

6. Gallatin's 4th of July Celebration

The town of Gallatin is also celebrating their 4th of July Celebration on Tuesday the 4th this year. The festivities will be at Triple Creek Park, just northeast of the downtown area. Activities begin at 4 PM, and parking is limited, so be sure to get there a little earlier, else you will have to park up the street at the Civic Center. Activities include live music, a foam mountain, 18 food vendors, face painting, and carnival games. Fireworks begin at 9 PM.

7. Hendersonville Freedom Festival

The Hendersonville Freedom Festival will take place on Monday, July 3rd this year at Drakes Creek Park off of Indian Lake Boulevard. Music and other festivities begin at 5 PM, with the fireworks beginning at 9 PM sharp. There is a Kids Zone available for kids, ,with admission being $5 per armband. There will also be live music, a fundraiser auction, food vendors, and face painting.

8. City of Goodlettsville Independence Day Celebration

The Independence Day Celebration put on by the City of Goodlettsville will take place on July 4th this year at Moss-Wright Park. Activities like face painting, pony rides, Fireman's Foam, inflatable playgrounds, and a rock climbing wall will be available starting at 4PM, and the fireworks will begin at 9 PM. The event is free, but most of the activities cost small fees.

9. Nolensville Star Spangled Celebration

The Nolensville Star Spangled Celebration will take place on Saturday, July 1st this year at Nolensville Park, just off the main road. Food trucks, live music, games, and inflatables are just some of the activities available, all starting at 6 PM. Be sure to head down to this beautiful small town early to catch the Farmer's Market, taking place at the historic school on Nolensville Road from 8 AM to noon. Fireworks begin at dusk officially, so expect them to start between 8:30 PM and 9 PM.

10. Brentwood July 4th Celebration

The City of Brentwood is celebrating the 4th this year with a concert and fireworks at the Eddy Arnold Amphitheater at Crockett Park on Volunteer Parkway. Festivities are on Tuesday the 4th and begin at 7 PM. There are no food trucks at the event, so be sure to bring your own food. The concert will be followed by a fireworks show, of course. No time has been announced for the fireworks, but we anticipate them starting around 9PM.

11. Franklin on the Fourth

The Fourth of July is another fantastic opportunity for the City of Franklin to show off why it's one of the best small towns in America. Franklin on the Fourth will kick off at 10 AM on the 4th and will feature music, food, antique cars, a large kids zone, and more. Activities downtown will wrap up by 8 PM, giving everyone plenty of time to get to the Park at Harlinsdale Farm, where the fireworks will take place at 9 PM.

12. Lebanon Fourth of July Celebration

The Wilson County Fairgrounds will be the site for the 2017 Fourth of July festivities in Lebanon. Lebanon's celebration features classic cars, a water slide, a mechanical bull, and free watermelon for everyone! Oh, and admission is free of course. Activities are available starting at 4:30 PM, and the fireworks are scheduled for dusk (between 8:30 PM and 9 PM).

13. Mt. Juliet July 4th Celebration

Taking Place on Tuesday the 4th, Mt. Juliet's Fourth of July Celebration will take place at Providence Market place on Mt. Juliet Road, just South of the interstate. Live music starts at 4 PM, with other activities including a video game trailer, face painting, and inflatable slides. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9 PM. Since the event is taking place in the parking lot, parking may be hard to come by, so be sure to get there early!

14. Watertown July 4th Celebration

One of the most unique (and most fun!) traditions in the Nashville area for Independence Day takes place in the town of Watertown. On July 4th at 3 PM, they will host their annual "Stars, Stripes, and Squirtguns" parade, where parade participants and spectators all bring their water weapons, and everybody gets soaked. Of course, there's a "No-Squirt Zone" at the end of the parade for those who don't want to get wet. The town will also shoot off fireworks in the Community Park at dusk (between 8:30 PM and 9 PM).
